100 Days of sharing ideas

by Ashwinie

During the 2020 COVID-19 Lockdown, Pakashastra hosted a #shareyourplate activity on its Facebook handle https://www.facebook.com/pakashastraABM. 100 days of non-stop activity to share the picture of food on your plate.

Excerpt from the Facebook post dated March 22, 2020:

PARTICIPATE. TAG. SHARE.
Stay Home, Stay Strong!

Hope you are all staying home and being safe. This lockdown for social distancing is going to last, at least for a few more weeks, for our safety; not a time for any excuse. This never-seen-before situation is extremely challenging – with the anxiety of COVID-19, working from home with kids, keeping kids occupied with activities and satisfying the ever growling tummies of theirs and the grown-up kids is a Herculean task. I have been cooking three times a day and though working from home ain’t new to me, what is truly stressful is deciding what to cook. It is like working on the ‘Intersection’ concept in the Sets theory. I know many of you are sailing in the same boat.
In this testing time, let’s help each other. I will try to post at least one picture a day of the food that we washed down at our home and you share yours. This would give us all ideas on ‘what to cook’ instead building up stress on deciding what to cook.
All you need to do is, take a picture of your food, preferably home cooked and post it in the comment section of my post, mention the name of the food and tag #showurplate
If you could add the recipe, it would be great. If not, please share the recipe, if someone zeroes in on the picture you have posted and asks you the recipe.

Share this with your friends who could participate; the more the merrier!

Let the world recuperate, stay home, strong and healthy!

Excerpt from the Facebook post on 100th Day:

PARTICIPATE. TAG. SHARE. – 100 days!!! Bringing the #showyourplate activity to an end today, half-hearted!

“100 days” is long enough to get habituated and attached to anything, but I have to end this activity. In this challenging time of staying home trying to be safe, engaging kids with full time work is a big deal. The objective of this activity to share ideas on “what to cook” has helped me much, hope it did the same to some of you at least.

Driving this activity for 100 days non-stop wasn’t an easy one; I had my ups & downs. With all your contribution, we kept it going strong.

I thank each one of you for participating in this event. I thoroughly enjoyed driving it, learnt a lot more on different types of food and also taking instant pictures of food on mobile phone!

If you have enjoyed being part of the activity or following the daily posts and rants, or if the daily posts annoyed you, do write your comments/feedback, would be happy to read them!

Hope I see the same or higher level of participation in the future activities, if any.

The world hasn’t recuperated yet, continue to Stay Home, Safe & Strong!
