This eggless Chocolate Cake is prepared by using buttermilk and soda to aerate the batter. This recipe yields a soft and spongy cake.
Ingredients:
All Purpose Flour (Maida) -1 1/3 cup
Powdered Sugar – 1 cup
Vegetable Oil – 1/2 cup
Cocoa Powder – 3 tbsps
Buttermilk – 3/4 to 1 cup
Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp
Baking Powder – 1 tsp
Baking Soda – 1/4 tsp
Method:
- Sift together maida, coca powder and baking powder twice.
- Add cooking soda to buttermilk and keep aside
- Take oil and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl and beat well.
- Add vanilla essence and mix well.
- Now add sifted flour and buttermilk. Mix well.
- Grease a tin and dust it thoroughly.
- Pour the batter into the tin and bake at 180 degrees C for 30-40 mins.
- Place the tin on a wire rack and let it cool.
- Once cooled, carefully unmould and cut into desired shapes.
