Salli is the quickest salad one can make, in just about 5 minutes. Thinly sliced cucumber, green chili, salt and some seasoning is all it takes to prepare this salad. This dish is best eaten with rice especially yogurt rice.
Ingredients:Cucumber – 1
Green Chillies – 3, slit
Salt to taste

For SeasoningMustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Black Gram – 1/2 tsp
Dry Red Chillies – 2, cut into pieces
Oil – 2 tsp
Asafoetida a pinch
Curry Leaves – 5

Method:
- Cut cucumber into small pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, add cucumber pieces, slit green chillies, salt and toss well.
- Set it aside for 30mins.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, black gram, dry red chillies and curry leaves.
- When mustard seeds start to splutter, add asafoetida.
- Season this on salli.
- Serve this with curd rice.
