This Apple & Maida Burfi recipe makes delicious sweet dish using apple, all purpose flour, sugar and ghee. Cardamom powder is used to enhance the flavor.
Ingredients:
All Purpose Flour (Maida) – 1 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Ghee – 1/2 cup
Apple – 1
Cinnamon Powder – 3/4 tsp
Cashew nuts – 10
Raisins – 10
Saffron Strands – 7 to 8 soaked in 1 tbsps hot milk
Method:
- Peel and grate apple.
- Grease a tray with some ghee. Keep aside.
- In a bowl, mix maida and milk together. There should be no lumps, so mix really well.
- Add sugar, ghee, cinnamon powder, saffron milk. Mix well.
- Now add grated apple, cashew nuts and raisins. Mix well.
- Now place the pan on medium flame and keep stirring continuously till it form a lump.
- When the mixture reaches a stage where it does not stick to the back of a clean spoon or a finger when touched, turn off the heat.
- Immediately transfer the mixture onto the greased tray and spread it evenly using a greased spatula.
- Let it cool down and then cut into desired shapes.
