Satyanarayana Pooja Prasadam is a sweet dish prepared as an offering during Satyanarayana Pooja. This recipe is prepared using semolina (bombay rava), sugar, ghee and water.
Ingredients:
Semolina/Upma Rava – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Ghee – 3/4 cup
Water – 2 cups
Cashew Nuts – 15
Raisins – 15
Saffron – 7 to 8 strands soaked in 1 tbsp warm milk (optional)
Method:
- Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a thick bottomed pan.
- Roast semolina until it turns slightly brown color.
- Transfer the roasted semolina onto a plate.
- Now heat 1 tbsp ghee in the same pan and roast cashew nuts and raisins.
- Once roasted, transfer them onto another plate.
- Now take sugar and water in the same pan.
- When the water starts boiling, add roasted semolina, saffron milk, cashew nuts and raisins.
- Add all the remaining ghee, mix well.
- Cover the pan and let it cook until all the water evaporates.
- Now mix it thorough and keep stirring until it forms a lump.
- Turn off the heat.
- Once cooled, make small balls of this prasadam.
