Set Dosa is a type of dosa originating from Karnataka. This dosa is thick, soft and porous. Usually served in a set of 2 or more, hence the name. This dosa is is usually served with coconut chutney and sambhar.
Ingredients:
Rice – 2 cups
Parboiled Rice – 1/2 cup
Black Gram – 1/2 cup
Fenugreek Seeds – 2 tsps
Salt to taste
Ghee/Oil – 1 tsp for each dosa
Method:
- Wash rice, parboiled rice, black gram and fenugreek seeds and soak in water 2 hours.
- Grind them together into smooth batter.
- Add salt and mix well.
- Let it ferment overnight or atleast for 8-9 hours.
- Beat the batter thoroughly.
- Heat a griddle, pour a laddle full of batter on it and spread it little, keeping it thick.
- Cover the griddle and cook until the rawness of the batter disappears.
- Remove the lid, sprinkle a tsp of ghee or oil on top of the dosa and let it roast lit bit.
- Flip the side and roast the other side too.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambhar.
