This Bansi Rava Roti is my family recipe. It is thick roti prepared from bansi rava, also known as fine cracked wheat, coconut, tomato, onion, coriander leaves and spices. This roti can be eaten as is or can be served with a chutney or pickle of your choice.
Ingredients:
Bansi Rava – 2 cups
Fresh Coconut – 3/4 cup, grated
Tomato – 1 large, chopped
Onion – 1 large, chopped
Coriander Leaves – 2 tbsps, chopped
Green Chillies – 3, chopped
Ginger – 1 inch, chopped
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.
Method:
- Soak rava in 3 cups of water for 2 to 3 hours.
- Add all the remaining ingredients and prepare the dough.
- On a preheated griddle, place some dough and spread it evenly pressing it gently.
- Keep the roti on the griddle covered.
- When the color of the roti changes to creamish from whitish, spread some ghee on the roti and flip it and roast.
- Serve hot with chutney, pickle or curd.
