Capsicum Pakoda is a deep fried snack prepared by dipping capsicum slices in a spicy chickpea/besan flour batter and then deep frying them until crisp. This snack can be enjoyed with evening tea/coffee or served as an appetizer.
Ingredients:
Capsicum – 3
Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsps
Salt to taste
Gram Flour (Besan) – 1 cup
Rice Flour – 2 tbsps
Oil for deep frying
Method:
-
- Wash and slice capsicum vertically.
- In a large mixing bowl, marinate capsicum with salt and red chilli powder for 30 minutes.
- Now add rice flour and gram flour.
- Mix well.
- Add very little water so that the batter gets coated on the capsicum slices.
- Heat oil in a wok.
- Carefully drop each slice in the oil and deep fry.
- Serve hot.
